Diageo in online PR storm over BrewDog awards snub

Diageo is facing a social media backlash after it was accused of “blackmail” to stop a Scottish brewery from winning a drinks industry award.

Aberdeen-based BrewDog claimed the drinks giant used its power as a sponsor of the British Institute of Innkeeping to prevent its smaller rival from picking up the Bar Operator of the Year prize.

The maker of Guinness and Smirnoff has been forced to apologise after the Scottish firm said it exerted “extreme pressure” on judges.

Pimm’s toasts start of summer with giant deckchair PR stunt

Pimm’s has marked the first official day of summer by placing a giant deckchair on Bournemouth Beach.

The PR stunt was timed to coincide with the clocks going forward yesterday (March 25th) and the start of British Summer Time.

Weighing in at almost six tonnes and measuring a huge 8.5m tall by 5.5m wide, the structure is thought to be the world’s largest deckchair.

Fisherman’s Friend returns to TV to target winter cold and flu sufferers

Fisherman’s Friend is targeting cold and flu sufferers this winter with two new TV ads, which will form the backbone of a major cross-platform campaign.

The two 20-second ads will air in the New Year and focus on highlighting the powerful menthol and eucalyptus in each lozenge with the strapline “Talk about strong”.
