Gourmet graduates
Welcome too to new graduates, Alex Leslie and Paras Sood.
After leaving the University of Sheffield with a 2.1 BA (Hons) in Law, Alex promptly set off travelling, exploring Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and the States. But reality soon came crashing down when his bank statement hit the mat, so it was back to Mum and Dad’s home here in Derby in a bid to pay off his overdraft!
He joined McConnells in April, where he has been learning the ropes in the PR department, helping out with everything from writing press releases and undertaking research to liaising with journalists.
Meanwhile, Paras, who graduated with a first class honours in BSC Communications and Society from Leicester University, tried his hand as a project officer at a local engineering firm. Realising this wasn’t for him, he decided to return to his area of expertise and joined McConnells as media executive, helping to plan and buy media space for his clients.
When not in work, Paras enjoys watching or playing sport, drinking beer and port, social anthropology and bird watching.
Both lads are big footy fans and are currently trying to organise the ‘McConnells five-a-side dream team’.
