McConnells Designs Duchess Exhibition For The National Trust
When Hollywood visited Kedleston Hall for the filming of The Duchess, which charts the scandalous life of 18th Century Aristocrat Georgiana Duchess of Devonshire, The National Trust recognised that it would bring hundreds of additional visitors through their doors.

As a result, they decided to produce an exhibition chronicling the filming through the eyes of The National Trust – and, thanks to the success of our previous work with other National Trust properties, they immediately turned to McConnells to design the exhibition panels.
We worked closely with The National Trust’s exhibition team to design the displays. Our graphic design team visited Kedleston Hall to determine the type of stand required, which were then specially crafted by the Trust’s carpenter.
Meanwhile, the design team produced the creative visuals using behind-the-scenes photos of the filming which will bring the insider gossip about everything from filming to preserving the fabric, fittings and fixtures of the Hall, back to life.
Victoria Flanagan, Property Manager at Kedleston Hall said:
"When Hollywood visited Kedleston Hall for the filming of The Duchess we knew that it was a great opportunity to raise the profile of the property and the area. However, many people don't get to see the work that takes place behind the scenes to ensure that the Hall and its contents are protected during the filming process. This exhibition gives people a great opportunity to find out some of our secrets!"
The exhibition opened in August, ready for when the film launches in September 2008.
