Ed gets ready to scrub as charities clean up in McConnells’ auction
Advertising account manager Ed Bowler is set to pull on his pinny and take up his feather duster after work colleague Georgina Gormley bought his house-cleaning skills in a charity auction.

Ed now faces the task of giving media account executive Georgina’s flat a full spring clean following the auction, which was held by staff at McConnells Advertising in Uttoxeter New Road, Derby.
Other successful bidders included joint managing director Ella Cheeseman, whose car will now be valeted by creative director Gary de Roeck and graphic designer Dean Pepper, while recruitment account manager Jacqueline Radford bought herself a day’s holiday.
Other goodies among the lots included bottles of champagne, a weekend break, beauty products and jewellery.
In total the auction raised £325, which will be shared equally between the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK, the Dogs Trust and local charity the Liberty Rose Trust, set up to fund research into brain tumours.
Robert Eley, chairman of McConnells, said: “Everybody had a great time at the charity auction and raised money for four very worthy charities.
“I want to thank our staff for entering into the spirit of the occasion – I just hope that Ed has got his Mr Muscle ready.”
